The big news for the AD19 Democratic primary is what a blowout landslide Francesca Hong had in the district. There was more interest in the gubernatorial primary as shown more by 1,338 more voters voting in the gubernatorial primary who left the assembly district race blank. It’s safe to assume that Hong got a lot of these votes from the fact that Hong won the district by a massive 31.5%. There was a moderate correlation of 0.46 where wards that voted for Hong voted for Clancy. Where a correlation of 1 means completely correlated and 0 means no correlation. Higher turnout tended to favor Clancy with a correlation of 0.31. The Hong and Clancy campaigns were deeply linked. Becky Cooper, Ryan Clancy’s spouse, was Hong’s campaign manager and Hong yard signs were frequently seen together. Maniaci outperformed Crowley in the district winning 2,337 more votes and won or was competitive in 8 more wards than Crowley.
